Biography

Graduated in CHEMISTRY-LICENCIATURE from the University Center of Votuporanga (UNIFEV), Master in Materials Science - Materials Chemistry from the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (FEIS - UNESP) and PhD in Materials Science - Materials Chemistry from the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (FEIS - UNESP). She was a SCHOLARSHIP TEACHER at the DFQ of FEIS - UNESP in the subjects of Biochemistry (Practical) and Organic Chemistry and a SUBSTITUTE TEACHER at the DFQ of FEIS - UNESP in the subject of General Chemistry (Theoretical and Practical). She has also worked as a COLLABORATIVE PROFESSOR at the DQ of FFCLRP - USP in the discipline of Photochemistry in Biological Processes and Photomedicine in the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry. She has extensive experience in the development and characterization of new materials for electroanalytical and biological applications (in vitro and in vivo) using tumorigenic and healthy cells. She has completed TWO POST-DOCTORATES, the first in the area of Materials Chemistry (development, characterization and electroanalytical application of new materials) at the DFQ of FEIS - UNESP. And the second, at the DQ of FFCLRP - USP in the area of biological applications (in vitro and in vivo) of nanomaterials in tumor and healthy cell lines. He is currently involved in 03 research and innovation projects, coordinating 01 of them in the area of innovation and technology.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from UFU, a master's degree from EESC-USP and a doctorate in Science (Chemistry) from FFCLRP-USP.

Biography

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2010). He holds a Master's degree in Science in the area of Materials Development, Characterization and Application (2013) from the São Carlos School of Engineering, University of São Paulo (EESC-USP) and a PhD in Sciences (Chemistry) from the Ribeirão Preto School of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters - University of São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP). He is currently a post-doctoral researcher working on the development of materials applied to tissue engineering at the Ribeirão Preto School of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters - University of São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP). He has experience in the area of characterization and development of materials, working specifically on research related to the formation and application of polymeric films aimed at developing drug carrier systems for cancer treatment, as well as the study and application of polymeric materials aimed at cellular interaction. Working on topics such as Photodynamic Therapy, Nanotechnology and Cancer.

Civil engineer from UNESP, specializing in water resources management, MBA from ESALQ-USP and executive training at Harvard.

Biography

He has a degree in Civil Engineering from Universidade Estadual Paulista "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (FEIS - UNESP), with a specialization in water resources management and regulation from the same institution, a Master of Business Administration from Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz - Universidade de São Paulo (ESALQ-USP) and C-Level Education from Harvard Business School. He is currently a partner in the company Insight Engenharia, with over 10 years' experience in projects and consultancy in infrastructure, ports and renewable energies, and Head of the Bild & Vitta group, one of the largest developers and construction companies in Latin America. He has experience and focus on project management and multidisciplinary teams, having worked on major projects in 7 countries.

Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Paraná, with a PhD and post-doctorate in Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP). She works as a scientific researcher in the field of Molecular and Cellular Biology, focusing on tumors of the central nervous system, genetic mutations and gene expression.

Graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). She completed her PhD and Post-Doctorate in Sciences at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine (FMUSP). She is currently the Scientific Researcher in charge of the USP Biobank - Academic Cancer Research Network, located at the Center for Translational Research in Oncology at the São Paulo State Cancer Institute (ICESP). He has extensive experience in Molecular and Cellular Biology, with an emphasis on tumors of the central nervous system. She conducts studies involving mutations and genetic polymorphisms (sequencing, PCR-SSCP), gene expression (microarray, qRT-PCR) and protein expression (Western blotting). She has carried out research in the area of Molecular Cancer Epidemiology, with a focus on gastric cancer and the Japanese-Brazilian population, at the Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Division of Nagoya Cancer Hospital in Aichi, Japan.

Summary

Physician and researcher with a solid career in Oncology and Cancer Biology. His work focuses on cell biology, tumor biochemistry and innovation in the diagnosis and therapy of neoplasms. He has international experience in translational research and in coordinating centers of excellence in precision oncology.

Biography

He graduated in Medicine from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 1988 and completed his doctorate in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) at the same institution in 1993, in partnership with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. He specialized in Glycobiology at the University of California, San Diego (1994-1997). He was a visiting researcher at the Friedrich-Miescher Institut (Basel, Switzerland, 1991), the Harvard School of Public Health (Boston, USA, 1993), the Federal University of São Paulo - UNIFESP-EPM (1998-1999), the Moffitt Cancer Research Center (Tampa, USA, 2011-2012) and the University of California, Davis (2019). He has been a professor at USP's School of Medicine since 2001 and a full professor of Oncology (area: Basic Oncology) since 2009. Since 2016, he has also been a collaborating adjunct professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He currently directs the Center for Translational Research in Oncology at the São Paulo State Cancer Institute (ICESP/FMUSP) and coordinates the Comprehensive Center for Precision Oncology at USP. He has been an active member of the Union for International Cancer Control (since 1991), the American Association for Cancer Research (since 1995), the Brazilian Society of Cell Biology (since 2004) and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (since 2013). He is also on the editorial board of the journals Frontiers in Oncology, Cancer Biomarkers and JNCI - Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Between 2018 and 2022, he was vice-director of USP's Faculty of Medicine, having contributed to the creation of the Medical Physics course at USP-SP, which began in 2022. His main area of expertise is Cancer Biology, with an emphasis on biochemistry and tumor cell biology, tumor progression, glucose markers, tumor microenvironments and mechanisms of resistance to therapies, with a focus on diagnostic and therapeutic innovation.

She has a degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), a Master's and PhD in Sciences - Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry from the Chemistry Institute of São Carlos (IQSC-USP) and is a post-doctoral researcher in the areas of Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering (UFSCar, USP and UNIVAP). She has a research internship abroad at the Electroanalysis and Electrochemical (Bio)Sensors Group of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). During her career, she has participated in projects in the areas of electroanalysis, biosensors, biomass innovation, biomedicine, environmental monitoring, electrochemistry of biomolecules, technology transfer and forensic chemistry. She is currently a research fellow at Diasci - Diagnóstico Científico e Soluções Tecnológicas Avançadas.

Gabriela Prado

Gabriela Prado

Management and Business

Summary

She holds a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Informatics from the University of São Paulo (USP) and an MBA in Strategic Business and Market Management from EACH-USP. She has worked on extension projects focusing on start-ups and entrepreneurship, and has also gained experience in various companies in the health and technology sector. Today she works on the management and business front at Diasci.

Biography

She is interested in medical systems, health innovation projects, product management, market analysis, innovation communities and ecosystems and startups. She worked with the development and monitoring of health monitoring software with a focus on tuberculosis during her Scientific Initiation, resulting in published articles and presented papers, which enabled one of the first course completion papers in the area with a comparative focus between manual protocols and systems implementation. He has worked on extension projects focused on start-ups and entrepreneurship. He specialized in customer experience in the use of medical software, mapping bugs during his internship at Iclinic (2020). He worked as a data intelligence analyst, responsible for Medcel's product backlog and for providing analysis metrics for the business (2021). He was also a project analyst (2021-2022) at the Varsomics group, for Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, responsible for managing bioinformatics projects, with a focus on innovation in consulting and teaching.

She did post-doctoral studies at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at USP and at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She works as a researcher at the Center for Translational Research in Oncology at the São Paulo State Cancer Institute (ICESP-FMUSP), focusing on tumor extracellular vesicles and tumor microenvironment.

She graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 2000. She obtained a Master's degree in Sciences (Physiology and Biophysics) from USP in 2003 and a PhD in Sciences (Oncology) from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP) in 2007. She did post-doctoral studies at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (Department of Microbiology) at USP and at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), developing studies in molecular and cellular biology applied to oncology. She is currently a researcher at the Center for Translational Research in Oncology (CTO) at the São Paulo State Cancer Institute (ICESP-FMUSP). Her line of research involves the study of the role of tumor extracellular vesicles in therapeutic outcome, reprogramming of the immune system in the tumor microenvironment and tumor progression, with an emphasis on translational approaches aimed at diagnostic and therapeutic innovation.
